Henry "Hank" Van Der Brink age 64 of George, IA passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at his home in George, IA.

Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George, Iowa with Reverend John Pea, officiating. A prayer service for family and friends will be held at 10:00 AM at Jurrens Funeral Home of George with burial to follow at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery of George.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George.

Henry “Hank” Dean Van Der Brink was born November 24, 1954 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the son of Case and Alice (Flier) Van Der Brink. He grew up outside of Hull before moving to Boyden. He attended Boyden Hull High School and graduated in 1973.

Hank was united in marriage to Brenda Den Hartog on December 12, 1973 at the First Reformed Church in Boyden, Iowa. They made their home in Boyden for 41 years before moving to George in 2015.

Hank was a lifelong truck driver, he worked for various trucking companies, with his most recent employment at Te Slaa Trucking. Hank truly enjoyed what he did for a living.

He enjoyed fishing, sprint cars, watching the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Twins. Most of all, Hank loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Brenda; his children, Bob (Tami) Van Der Brink, and their children: Autumn, April, Michael, Ashlyn and Arissa all of Boyden, IA, Corey (Sheri) Van Der Brink, and their children: Aidan and Harper all of Rushmore, MN, and Ashley (Nathan) Kruse, and their son, Karter all of Tea, SD; brother, Lyle (Deloris) Van Der Brink of Sioux Center, IA; and sister, Connie ( Kent) Rusche of Hospers, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Case and Alice Van Der Brink; his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Alvina Den Hartog.
