Mrs. Wilbur Van Beek Dies at Home of Parents

Mrs. Wilbur Van Beek passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al Vander Vegte at Rock Valley on Friday, March 16, 1945 at the age of 37 years.

Marie leaves to mourn her departure her husband and two children Myron Glenn and Delores Faye, also her parents, Mr. and Mrs Al Vander Vegte and two brothers Henry Vander Vegte of Rock Valley and Harry Vander Vegte who is in the service and in Germany.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, 12:45 at the Vander Vegte home at Rock Valley and at 3:30 at the First Reformed Church, Rock Valley, with Reverend Aberson officiating. Burial took place at the Carmel Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Beek has been ailing for many years with tuberculosis and spent five years in the Denver Santorium, but was much improved in recent years and the family lived together at Denver for the past three years until about a month ago at which time she became critically ill again and at that time she came to spend her last days at the home of her parents.

Her small daughter Delores Faye has also spent several years at the Sanatorium, but is now getting along well.

Mr. Van Beek and children arrived here early Sunday morning from Denver to attend the funeral.
