Mrs. Andrew Vander Velde died at her home Saturday, October 21 at 11:30 o'clock. Her illness was due to complicated diseases.

Johanna Wiekamp was born at Oolsburg, Wisconsin, on December 28, 1861 and was 71 years, 9 months and 23 days old at the time of her passing. On February 28, 1883 she was married to Andrew Vander Velde at Newkirk and to this union six children were born, namely, Martin of Dalmead, Alberta, Canada; John of Los Angeles, California; Andrew of Dalmead Alberta, Canada; Lizzie (Mrs. Harry Voss) of Hospers; Mary (Mrs. Jack Hawkins) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Charles of Ardenode Alberta, Canada. She is also survived by her husband and one brother and two sisters and 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was healthy and spry until three weeks ago when she fell and bruised her knee with which she was laid up till her death.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the church.

On February28, 1933 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Her two sons Martin and Andrew attended the anniversary, coming all the way from Canada for the occasion.

On February 27, 19?? they held a sale on the farm and moved into the residence which has been occupied by them for 25 years.

Six neighbors, namely Alexander Klein, Peter Helder, Steve De Vries, William Ronwenhorst, Albert Nieuwenhuis and A.J. Nieuwenhuis, acted as pallbearers.

Burial took place at the Presbyterian Cemetery.
