Mrs. Anna Christina Vander Veen, 83, died Thursday at the Sioux Center Hospital, where she had been a patient since Sunday.

Mrs. Vander Veen was born January 29, 1876 in Windschoten, The Netherlands and came to America with her parents at the age of 17. In 1893 she was married to Auko Vander Veen who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Mitchell, of Sanborn, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Mellema of Hull, Iowa, and Miss Jennie Vander Veen of Sioux Center; two sisters, Mrs. William Heynen of Sioux Center and Mrs. Alice Wouters of Lynden, Washington; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 1 P.M. Monday, August 17, at the Co-operative Funeral Home and at 1:30 P.M. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. T. Weavers officiated and burial was in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery.

Note: She was the daughter of Hilke Jager and Derkje Meijer. Her brother Peter Jager is buried in the West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City, Sioux, Iowa
