Services held for Mrs. Vander Ploeg

Mrs. Charles Vander Ploeg 85, Orange City, Iowa died January 27, at the hospital at Orange City.

Funeral services were held January 29, at 1:30 p.m. at the Dover Avenue Alliance Church with the Reverend Jack Van Kekerix officiating. She was buried at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, at Sioux Center, with the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, Sioux Center, Iowa.

Mrs. Vander Ploeg was the former Sadie Vander Schaaf and was born March 4, 1886 in the Netherlands, daughter of Auske and Sietske (Bruinsma) Vander Shaaf.

She married in May 12, 1910 at Sioux Center. Mr. Vander Ploeg died in 1967.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Merlin (Edith) Kjerland of Renton, Washington, Mrs. Bernard (Eileen) Hogan of Chicago, Illinois; three sons, James of Sheldon, Arthur of Sioux Center, the Reverend Harold of Glenview, Illonois; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
