Funeral services for Herman Vander Naald, 79, longtime Sioux county resident who died Monday in a hospital at Newberg, Oregon were held the past Monday in the First Reformed Church of Orange City. Burial was in the Orange City Cemetery.

Mr. Vander Naald was born May 7, 1876, on a farm near Newkirk, Iowa. He lived on his farm eight miles from Sheldon for 30 years and spent several years in retirement in Orange City before moving to Oregon eight years ago.

Mr. Vander Naald married Anna Moss in March, 1903. She died on July 6, 1939.

In February, 1945 he married Mrs. Clara Branstitter and in 1947 they moved to Newberg, Oregon where the widow will continue to live.
