Miss Evadena "Dena" Vander Broek died at her home here Wednesday morning after an illness of several months. Death being due to goiter. She returned two weeks ago from the Le Mars Hospital where she had received treatment. Her condition was then considered serious and a nurse from Orange City was called to assist in caring for her. However, help was powerless and she passed away Wednesday morning at ten o'clock.

The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frans Vander Broek of Maurice. She was born on the farm near Maurice in 1905 and at the time of her death was 18 years, 10 months and 12 days old.

She is survived by her parents and five sisters: Mrs. Peter Smits, Mrs. William Van Roekel and Bertha, Frances and Henrietta and six brothers: Gerrit, Tony, William, Peter, Henry and Martin.

The funeral services were conducted from the First Reformed Church Friday afternoon by the pastor, Reverend J. Straks. Interment in the Maurice Cemetery.
