Frank Vander Broek, 56, passed away at an Iowa City Hospital Sunday morning at 12:30 o’clock after three weeks of hospitalization there.

Mr. Vander Broek was born at Maurice and spent nearly half of his life there. He was married to Johanna Roghair 35 years ago and after living at Maurice for some years the family moved to Orange City.

Surviving are his widow and eight children, who are: Marie of New Jersey, Vera (Mrs. Arthur Slobe) and Frances (Mrs. Arthur Thompson), both of San Diego, California, Edward of Bellflower, California, Shirley of Boone, Iowa, Franklin, Gerald and Beverly at home. There are five grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers and three sisters: Gerrit of Maurice, Tony, William and Martin all of Orange City, and Peter of Denver, Colorado; Bertha (Mrs. Gerrit Mulder) and Frances (Mrs. John Mulder) both of Orange City, and Henrietta (Mrs. Gerrit Riphagen) of Maurice.

Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed Church at 2 P.M. Thursday and at 1:30 at the Vander Broek home. Reverend Henry Colenbrander will officiate. Interment will be made in the local cemetery.
