Mrs. Gerrit Van Der Broek, nee Nellie Van Roekel, died at Grossmann hospital Thursday, September 8 at the age of 56.

Funeral services were held Monday September 12 at 1 o'clock in the home and at 1:30 in the Reformed Church at Maurice with Reverend John Roggen officiating. Burial was in the Sherman Township Cemetary.

She was born and raised on a farm near Maurice and in 1917 was united in marriage to Gerrit Van Der Broek.

Surviving are her husband and five children and one grandchild, Myra and Helen at home, Raymond at Sheldon and Robert and Norman at Maurice. There are also five brothers and three sisters, John, Peter, Grace (Mrs. S. Dykstra). George, Nettie (Mrs. H. Van Stryland), Gertrude (Mrs. Peter Roos), Benjamin and Ernest.

Her parents and one brother, William, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church at Maurice and was very active in church work.
