William Vander Broek passed away after a two weeks illness of a heart ailment Saturday January 5, 1946 at the age of 66 years and 22 days at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Le Mars. He had been ill for the past ten years.

Mr. Vander Broek was born at Eeda, Province of Gelderland, Holland, December 14, 1880 and came to this country at the age of twenty three years.

He was married to Mrs. Elizabeth De Jong Vanden Kamp on March 5, 1914 at Sully, Iowa. They made their home near Chandler, Minnesota, until 1930 when they moved to Rock Valley locating in Park Addition. One son, John died in a farm accident seven years ago.

Left to survive besides the widow are Helena, Mrs. William Teunissen, Rock Valley; Gerrit Vander Broek of Chandler, Minnesota, Marinus Vander Broek at home; Gradus Vander Broek, Hynes, California; Anna, Mrs. Pete Baker, Alvord; Jerry Vander Broek at home; Cornelius, home on furlough from Camp Swift, Texas; and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday and the Old Reformed Church at 2 o’clock.
