Services Held in Sioux City for Mrs. D. Thornburg

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy (Vitzthum) Thornburg, 70, of Sioux City, were held there last Saturday at St. Thomas Episcopal church with burial at Sioux City.

Mrs. Thornburg was born in Rock Valley Feb. 22, 1894 and was well-known by many people here, although she had lived in Sioux City for the past 57[??] years where she was associated with the insurance business.

FindaGrave.com has Dorothy Vitzthum Thornburg, born 21 Feb 1894 in Rock Valley, died Nov. 1964 in Sioux City, buried in Graceland Park Cemetery. Parents, John Casper Vitzthum (1865-1926) and Maud Caldwell Vitzthum (1869-1904). Husband, Boyd Lee Thornburg (1891-1935).

News notes in Sioux County newspapers indicate the Thornburgs married sometime prior to August, 1934, following his January 1933 divorce from his first wife. No marriage record for them was readily located. (See his obituary, posted separately).
