Mrs. Beert (Janna Vlijm) Vanden Berg passed at her home east of Rock Valley at the Walter Baker home where she had been making her home with her daughter.

Mrs. Vanden Berg's son John B. VandenBerg died at the farm home, the latter part of May and her husband Beert Vanden Berg passed away suddenly on July 15, 1936 and now she left thie earthly domain on Saturday, January 16, 1937.

This is three deaths in a little over seven months in the Vanden Berg family.

Three Members of Family Pass On In Eight Months

With the passing Saturday night of Mrs. Beert Vanden Berg of the Rock Valley vicinity, the total number of deaths in the family during the past eight months was brought to three.

Her son, John, her only son. died last May. His father followed him to the grave the following August and now the wife and mother is also gone.

Two daughters survive her - Mrs. Walter Baker of Rock Valley vicinity and Mrs. Jake Eppinga of Inwood.

Mrs. Vanden Berg had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Baker, since the death of their son. She was 84 years of age - the same age at which her sister, the late Mrs. John Van Hull of Alton, died two years ago.

Mrs. Vanden Berg’s niece, Mrs. John Lammers of Alton, and family attended the funeral which was held at Rock Valley Wednesday afternoon.
