Died: January 3, 2008Jay Claus Beck, age 75, of Phoenix, Arizona died at home January 3, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer. No services are planned with the internment at the V.A. National Cemetery in Phoenix.
Jay was born August 1, 1932, the son of Fred and Jenny Beck of Hawarden. After graduating from Hawarden High School in 1952, Jay served in the United States Army before marrying Janice Flick in Luverne, Minnesota. After living in Florida, Kansas, and Iowa, Jay retired to Arizona after many years with the Hershey Corporation.
He is survived by his wife Janice Beck; his sister Bernandine Danielson of Hawarden and brother Bill Beck of Wichita, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Jim, George, June and Ella. Fred "Fritz" Beck died January 4, 2008.
