Following an operation in a local hospital from which she seemed to be recovering, Mrs. Ben Wiersema died early Thursday morning, April 24. She was 64.

Mrs. Wiersema, nee Della Swets, was born in South Holland, Illinois, on December 29, 1886. At the age of 10 years she moved with her parents to a farm six miles north of Orange City.

In the year 1912, she was united in marriage to Ben Wiersema, and to this union were born three children, Catherine (Mrs. Henry Van Peursem), Teunis, and Nellie (Mrs. Henry Jans), all of Orange City.

They survived her with Mr. Wiersema, five grandchildren, the aged mother, Mrs. Teunis Swets and three brothers and one sister, Peter and Walter of Sheldon, Case and Mrs. John G. Van Oort of Orange City. One brother, John, died in 1940 and her father passed away in 1942.

Mrs. Wiersema was a member of the First Reformed Church, and funeral services were held there Monday afternoon preceded by services in the home. Reverend H. Colenbrander and Reverend H. Kolenbrander of Middleburg were in charge of the services with Reverend F. B. Mansen closing prayer. Burial was in the local cemetery.
