Funeral services for Charles Whalen, 87, were held at 7 a. m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Reverend William Carol officiated and burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral home. Mr. Whalen died Saturday at a Hawarden nursing home.
He was born December 24, 1879, in New York City and had lived in the Hawarden area most of his life.
There are no survivors.
