MRS. AUGUST WENIGER PASSED AWAY AT WAHPETON, NORTH DAKOTA LAST WEEK

Mrs. August F. Weniger pass away at Wahpeton, North Dakota, from a cerebral hemorrhage which she suffered September 30. Her remains were brought to Hawarden, arriving on the Milwaukee train Saturday morning. Mr. Weniger and a niece, Nina Brethold of Chicago, accompanied the body here.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Ross Funeral Home with Reverend T.H. Harding of the Associated Church in charge. The following old time friends were pallbearers: Walter Scott, John Gearhart, George Niehaus, Fred Vernon, Fred Finnie and William Sedgwick. Interment was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Jennie Ward was born in Grant County, Wisconsin, September 19, 1857, and so was just past 84 years of age at the time of her death. She came to Hawarden as Mrs. Jennie Smith and for a time she and Agnes Rose, operated a military store in Calliope. Later, when living in Hawarden, she was united in marriage with August Weniger, an engineer on the North Western Railroad. About 30 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Weniger went to Wahpeton, North Dakota and he worked for the Great Northern Railway Company.

Besides her husband she is survived by one sister, Mrs. John Burton of Hudson. Mrs. Burton was unable to attend the services as she is an invalid.
