ANOTHER COUNTY PIONEER GONE----MRS. WEBBER OF GRANVILLE DIED SATURDAY---CAME TO SIOUX COUNTY IN 1875

Mrs. Margaret Webber of Granville, a pioneer settler of this county, died at her home in Granville Saturday, January 10th, from an ailment due to old age. She had been ill almost continually since last spring.

Margaret Meyer was born in Kilburg, Germany, March 3rd, 1837, and had reached the age of 88 years, 11 months, 21 days. She came to the United States with her parents in 1855. She was married in 1857 at Galena, Illinois to Nicholas Priviet. Two children were born to this union, Mrs. Hill of Caledonia, Minnesota and Mrs. Schwanker of South Dakota. Mr. Priviet died in 1866. Mrs. Priviet was married to Henry Webber at Caledonia in 1868. The moved to Sioux County in 1875, settling on a farm southeast of Granville, where they lived until 26 years ago, when they moved to Granville. Mr. Webber died several years ago.

Mrs. Webber is survived by six children: Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Schwanker, P.H. Webber of St. Paul, N.H. Webber, Glendale, Minnesota, Mrs. P. Kramer of Dyersville, Mrs. George Clayton of Paullina, also by one sister, Mrs. N. Priviet of Caledonia and a brother, Carl Meyer of Adrian, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held from St. Joseph’s Church on Tuesday morning at 9:30, Reverend J.A. Gerlemann.
