Arthur Lee Waterman, 83, died Tuesday evening from a heart attack in the Odd Fellows Hall just prior to the opening of a lodge meeting.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Associated Church, Reverend John C. Thorns officiating. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Mr. Waterman was born September 7, 1873, on a farm near Maywood in Lewis County, Missouri, where he spent his childhood. He came to Hawarden as a young man.

In 1912 he moved to Gundreson, Colorado. There he married Miss Dora Smith of Hawarden in July of the same year. They returned to Hawarden in 1920 to take up permanent residence. Mrs. Waterman died four years ago.

Mr. Waterman was a member of the Odd Fellows and Woodmen of the World Lodges. He was a mason by trade.

Survivors include the only son, Gaylon, of Hawarden; three sisters, Mrs. Viola Anderson of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Ruby Bartlett of San Diego, California, and Mrs. Mary Westergard of Sioux City and two brothers, Marvin W. of Hawarden and E.C. Waterman of Portland, Oregon.
