Ring Wallenburg Rites Held Tuesday

Funeral services for Ring Wallenburg, 80, were held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at Porter Funeral Home with the Reverend J. Van Zweden officiating of the Reformed Church. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

Mr. Wallenburg died Saturday at Sioux Valley hospital in Sioux Falls following a lingering illness.

He was born in The Netherlands December 12, 1886, a son of Teunis and Christine Van Melkenhorst Wallenburg.

He married Winnie Harskamp and they were the parents of seven sons and five daughters, all of whom survive with the exception of one daughter, Winnie.

The surviving children are Tony and Ring Jr., both of Artesia, Califormia; Richard and John of Rock Valley; Gilbert of Lakewood, California; William and Henry of Ripon, California; Christina, Mrs. Gerrit Van Surksum of Rock Valley; Alida, Mrs. Hans Burgers of Sioux Center; Gertrude, Mrs. Matt Huisman of Rock Valley; and Wilma, Mrs, Al Van Beek of Artesia, California. Also surviving are 49 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Bearers were Albert Van Hill, John W. Wallenburg, Bud Ter Maat, Case Schelling, John Van Der Weide and John Harskamp.
