From the Alton Democrat, November 17, 1933, Hull news:

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Lutjens died Monday night [November 13] after a sudden short illness of pneumonia. The little one is survived by his parents and one sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus Lutjens Lose Infant Last Tuesday

Friends here sincerely sympathize with Mr. and Mrs. Claus Lutjens, who lost their infant by death at the hospital at Rock Rapids, Monday night. The babe was buried Thursday.

The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Lutjens, Norma Claus, b. 1 Sep 1933, d. 13 Nov. 1933, St. Paul Luth Cem, Hull IA. This appears to be a transcriber’s error, since other sources show a boy named Norman Claus. (The Iowa Gravestone Photo Project index for Lutjens in Sioux County was no help; it stops with first names “M”)

From Ancestry.com, U.S. Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Church Records: Congregational records, Iowa, Hull, St Paul: The death register has Norman Claus Luetjens, born 1st of Sept 1933 near Hull, Ia., died 13 Nov 1933, age 2 mo 13 d, of pneumonia; buried 16 Nov 1933; parents Claus and Della Luetjens. The baptismal register shows Norman Claus Luetjens, born 1 Sept. 1933, baptized 24 Sept 1933, parents Claus Luetjens and Della nee Kuhl.

No death certificate was found online.

Information from researcher Wilma J. Vande Berg: Claus Herman Lutjens was born August 24, 1887 at Hull, and died Sept. 27, 1927 at Hills, Minn. Della Kuhl was born March 24, 1900 and died March 16, 1988, buried at Cypress, Calif. Della and Claus were married May 20, 1931.
