Death came to Jacob "Jake" Wagenaar, 54, at a local hospital Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.

He had complained of not feeling well for several days, and became ill Tuesday evening. Friday he was removed to the hospital. He never regained consciousness from Tuesday until the time of his death.

Mr. Wagenaar was born in Wyaan Zee, The Netherlands, and at the age of 17 came to America with his mother, sister and brother. However, after a year and a half here, his mother and sister returned to Holland and he never saw them again.

Since he was 18, he made his home with his aunt, Mrs. E. J. Dykstra.

Mr. Wagenaar was a carpenter for over 29 years, and in partnership with Ted De Vries did excellent work.

Surviving are his brothers, Case of Doon, Klaas of Rock Rapids, and Gerrit of Orange City. He also has a brother and sister in the old country.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and a sister.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the home of Mrs. E. J. Dykstra, with Reverend H. Colenbrander officiating. A.D. Van Etten's Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements, and burial was in the local cemetery.
