Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Van Etten Funeral Parlors for Simon Wagenaar, 87, who passed away Thursday, October 24 in the local hospital after a year's hospitalization there.

Surviving are his widow, Alice Wagenaar (nee Alice Vander Veer), who is a patient in the geriatrics ward of the local hospital; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Case Wagenaar of Brookings, South Dakota, also nieces and nephews in this vicinity and at Brookings.

Coming from a distance to attend the funeral were Mrs. Case Wagenaar, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Wagenaar, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wagenaar and daughter, all of Brookings.
