Cornelius Tuinstra was born August 19, 1868 at Twezel, The Netherlands. At the age of 21 years he came to America and settled at Orange City, Iowa. He was married to Janet De Vries from Boyden the 13th of January and to this union nine children were born, one preceding him in death in infancy. Mr. Tuinstra has resided around Boyden until the day of his death, September 28, 1942, being 74 years, 1 month and 9 days.

The children to mourn his passing are: Mrs. Kuyper, Worthington, Minnesota, Mrs. Gertrude Post, Harris, Iowa, Mrs. Bertha Heeringa, Brewster, Minnesota, Mrs. Janet Thevenot, Beloit, Wisconsin, Mrs. Sadie Roberts, Marcus, Iowa, Mrs. Cornelia Post, Hull, Iowa, Edna and Annette Tuinstra of Long Beach, California.
