Mrs. Hendrik Top (formerly Mrs. Willempje Vander Berg) died at her home at 7:45 o'clock Saturday morning, August 29. She had attained the age of 78 years and 7 months.

Mrs. Top had been in frail health for some time and had been afflicted with blindness for a number of years. Three years ago she submitted to an operation for cataract and since then seemed quite feeble.

She was born in the Netherlands and on August 18, 1884 was married to Hendrik Top. They settled on farm near Newkirk where they lived until I908 when they moved to Newkirk. In 1920 they moved to Orange City.

Nine children were born to this union, four of whom preceded their mother in death.

Surviving are five children. Gerrit of Newkirk, Carrie, Mrs. Ed Zwagerman, of Hospers; Reka, Mrs. G.G. Van Es, Alton; Hannah, Mrs. John J. Van Oort, Orange City; and William of Orange City; also her surviving spouse, Mr. Top. She is also survive by 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the First Reformed Church. Reverend H. Colenbrander ofiiciated. Interment was at the Newkirk Cemetery.
