BEULAH MAXINE MOESTERDT

Beulah Maxine Moesterdt, died at the house of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Van Beek last week Wednesday.

Beulah Maxine was born February 22, 1933, and passed away November 22, 1933, aged nine months, at the Van Beek home, her uncle and aunt, where she had been staying since the death of her mother, Mrs. G. Mosterdt, Jr., who died September 21, 1933, 20 hours after she submitted to an operation for an inside goitre.

The baby had been ill with intestinal flu for a few days and was getting better when suddenly she fell into a convulsion at 7:00 A.M. Wednesday. A doctor was called and did all that was within his power, but the child died at 1:40 P.M. without regaining consciousness.

Funeral services were held at the Van Beek home at 1:30 o’clock Friday afternoon. Relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Ben Scholten, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. A. Verdoorn, Orange City; Mr. and Mrs. John Ter Wee, Fairview, S.D.; Mrs. Neal Verdoorn and two daughters, Ashton, Iowa; Mrs. M. Intvelt, Sioux Center; Mr. and Mrs. J. Verdoorn, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. J. Verdoorn, Jr., Mrs. A. Verdoorn, Mr. and Mrs. A. Gaalswyk and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Verdoorn, Mr. and Mrs. G. Mosterdt and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. Hulshof, Jr., all of Rock Valley; Mr. and Mrs. B. Bleek, Hudson, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. J. Ver Westerhuizen and family, Sioux Falls; Mr. and Mrs. J. Van Beek, Inwood; Mr. and Mrs. B. Van Beek, Fairview, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. G. Van Beek, Inwood; Mr. and Mrs. I. Kroese and son, Sanborn; Mrs. Mars and daughter, Sanborn; Mr. and Mrs. E. Elgersma and daughter, Melvin; and Mrs. J. Kroese and friends, of Sanborn.

Her death certificate (which spells her name Buelha Maxine Mostard) adds her parents, Gerrit Mostard, born in the Netherlands, and Elsie Van Westerhyzen [i.e., Westerhuizen], born in Rock Valley; died at 2:20 p.m. November 22; cause, convulsions; contributory cause, gastroenteritis, onset Nov. 18.
