Mrs. Peter L. Thompson, 72, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 4, at her home here. Her death was not discovered until Thursday when relatives checked to find out why she did not answer her telephone.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 P.M. Saturday at the First Methodist Church with Reverend G. S. Bruland officiating. Mrs. Rod Wilbeck provided vocal music and Mrs. Ivanan Noe was the organist. Burial took place in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thompson, the former Ruth Luverne Rifenbark, was born in Yankton, South Dakota. She was married September 27, 1924 at Yankton. They moved to Hawarden in 1936. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, the W.S. of the Church and American Legion Mothers Club.

Mr. Peter Thompson died September 2, 1945.

Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Al Bartels of Hawarden, Mrs. Glenn Molzen of Akron, and Mrs. Robert Gayer of Rock Valley; one son, Lyle of Hawarden and nine grandchidren.
