Funeral services for Michael Tieran, 86, retired Ireton farmer who died at the Hawarden Hospital Sunday, were held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Maurice, Father Leo Schumacher officiating at the Requiem Mass. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of the Barnard-Dow Funeral Home.

Casketbearers were Peter Eisma, Sidney Eisma, Ernest Eisma, Louis Kluter, Emery Vlotho and H.J. Schmitz.

Mr. Tiernan was born December 10, 1889, at Springfield, Illinois and came to Iowa with his parents when he was six weeks old. He lived on the same farm east of Ireton for 80 years. He never married.

Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
