Dick Tiemersma died on Thursday, June 14, at the Grossmann Hospital, after a few weeks of weakness from a partial paralysis.

Mr. Tiemersma was born on March 4, 1884, at Menaldum, Friesland, and came to America as a young man. He worked in Avon, South Dakota and other places until his marriage on February 24, 1920 to Anna Vander Kooi, Reverend J. Engeksma performing the ceremony. They made their home in and and around Orange City, where he was for some years employed on the section of the Northwestern Railroad. They retired from their country place a few years ago.

Funeral services were held June 18 at the home on the west side and at the First Christian Reformed Church, conducted by Dr. R. Bronkema. Burial was arranged by the Van Etten Service in the local cemetery.

The deceased leaves his wife and the daughter Margaret, employed at the Slobe Loan Office. There is a brother, Jacob in Bolsward, Friesland and a sister Mrs. R. Lammertse, in Amsterdam.

Dick Tiemersma

Dick Tiemersma, 67, died in the Grossman Hospital Thurday at 4:30 o'clock in the afternoon. He suffered a stroke a month ago and a second stroke last week Tuesday.

The departed was born in the Netherlands and came to this country when a youth. He was married to Anna Vander Kooi, 31 years ago and to them was born one daughter, Margaret. His widow and daughter survive. Also one sister and one brother in the Netherlands.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the home of the deceased and at the First Christian Reformed Church with Reverend R. Bronkems officiating. Interment was made in the Orange City Cemetery.
