Wm. Van Stryland Rites Held Dec. 23 Succumbs Dec, 19 At Local Hospital Funeral services for William Van Stryland were held from the First Reformed church last Thursday afternoon, December 23. Dr, Henry Colenbrander officiated at the services. Interment was made at the local cemetery win arrangements by the Van Etten Funeral home. The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased. John Horn, Lake Wilson, Minn., Tunis Vander Lee of Sheldon, Howard Harman, (Dale Ferwerda, Abe Van Roekel and Philip Van Gorp all of Boyden.

William Van Stryland was born November 4, 1884 in the Netherlands. He came to this country with his parents, Geertje and Lambartus Van Stryland, brother Henry and sister Gertie, when four years of age. The family settled on a farm: near Boyden where they resided for 14-years when they moved to a farm near Orange City. After the death of his parents William made his home with his brother and sister in law. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Stryland. Mr. Van Stryland died quite unexpectedly at the Grossmann hospital Sunday, December 19, at approximately 10 p.m. after being ill for a month. He had reached the age of 70 years, one month and 15 days.

Besides Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Stryland, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Gertie Van Roekel of Boyden, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
