The Hull community was profoundly shocked last Sunday afternoon when the demise was reported of Miss Fannie Ten Harmsel. She had been sick with pneumonia for a week and after days of tremendous suffering, the end came Sunday at about 2 P.M.

Fannie would have reached her 18th birthday the 30th of this month. She was a graduate of Western Academy of last year and had accepted a position as teacher in the Christian School at Middleburg. Besides being an efficient teacher, she was an accomplished young lady and has delighted many audiences with her musical renderings. She has been the organist of the local Christian Reformed Church for the last three years. Her memory is blessed in our circles and we do not begin to realize the loss we have sustained.

Fannie had confessed her Savior in the days of her youth and adorned her confession with a Godly walk. Her Savior was near her in the young days of agony and she was ready to testify that she was saved, but only saved by grace.

The funeral was held last Wednesday at 12:30 at the home in Sioux Center and at two o’clock in the local Christian Reformed Church. At the home the relatives were addressed by the Reverend Mr. Schuurmann from Middleburg and at the Church, Reverend Huissen spoke in Dutch and the Reverend Schuns in English.

Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family. She leaves a father and a mother, Antoon and Marie (Ten Brink) Ten Harmsel, 4 brothers and 5 sisters and a host of friends to mourn her departure.
