JOHANNA VAN SCHEPEN Mrs. Johanna Van Schepen, age 92, of Hull, passed away Thursday, May 17, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. Johanna was born July 29, 1891, near Sioux Center, the daughter of Louis Wynia and Marie De Vries Wynia.

On February 27, 1912, she married Christian Van Schepen at Sioux Center. They farmed, most of the time near Boyden. In 1947, they retired into Hull, where they were custodians of the First Christian Reformed Church. Mr. Van Schepen passed away October 3, 1950. Mrs. Van Schepen continued as a church custodian for a few more years. About four years ago, she became a resident of the Pleasant Acres. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and its Be a Blessing Society.

Survivors include six children, Fred and Louis of Hull; Clarence of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Charles (Suzann) Vande Weerd of Rock Rapids; and Donald and Melvin of Hull; 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Cornie (Maggie) De Boom of Harris, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, "Chris", Mrs. Van Schepen was preceded in death by one great granddaughter. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 19, at the First Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. Marvin Heyboer officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull, under the direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.
