Dies at Home of Parents in Ireton.
Ireton – Gerrit Van Schepen of Sioux city died Sunday morning in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Van Schepen sr. in Ireton.

Mr. Van Schepen had been ill at the home of his wife’s parents in Sioux City but was brought to Ireton Saturday. His brother Fred Van Schepen jr. and Paul Anema brought him here. Death was attributed to a blood clot in the heart.
His wife was in California t the time of his death. She had gone to California to assist in the home of a sister after the birth of a baby in that home.

Mr. Van Schepen was born at Ireton March 18, 1909. Fourteen years ago he married Pearl Brandsma.

Besides his wife and parents he is survived by nine brothers and sisters. Chris Van Schepen of Boyden; Mrs. Andrew De Jong of Toronto SD; Fred Van Schepen Jr, Mrs Paul Anema and Mrs. Ed Van Engen of Ireton; Mrs. Tunis Vollink of Scheldon; Nick Van Schepen of Lodi NJ; Mrs. Tony Vander Kooy of Maruice and Mrs. Henry Kooiker of Grand Rapids MI.
