RITES HELD FOR CHARTER MEMBER IRETON CHURCH Ireton, lA.—Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Fred Van Schepen, sr., from the Christian Reformed church with Rev. Paul Ouwinga officiating. Burial was in the local cemetery. He was the oldest charter member of the Christian Reformed church and a resident here for about 45 years. Pall bearers were his grandsons. Mr. Van Schepen died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Tunis Vollink, at Sheldon last Wednesday from a heart attack.

He was born in The Netherlands Jan. 2, 1861. He was married at Patterson, N. J., Sept. 29, 1898. His wife preceded him in death, Dec. 20, 1948. They lived at Orange City in 1903, farming an acreage for two years, coming to a farm northeast of Ireton where their youngest son, Gary, was born. After living here three years they moved to a farm eight miles southwest of Ireton where they lived for 11 years and then moved into Ireton. After the death of his wife,

J.; Chris of I Hull; Mrs. Henry Kooiker of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mrs. Andrew De Jong of Toronto, S. D., and Mrs. Tunis Vollink of Sheldon
