MRS. ALBERT TECHEN DIED SEPTEMBER 15.

Martha Techen, as born Schlossin, whose remains were laid to rest on Saturday, September 18, was born March 27, 1886 as the daughter of August and Pauline Schlossin. In early childhood she was baptized in the St. Peter Lutheran Church at Elysian, Minnesota. June 11th, 1899 she renewed her baptismal vow and promise in the rite of Confirmation in St. John’s Lutheran Church at Saber Lake, Minnesota. She spent all of her childhood days in Minnesota. In 1902, April the 18th, she was united in marriage with Albert Techen of Hull, Iowa. To this union five children were born, all of whom survive. They are: Elsie (Mrs. Melvin Miller at Jamesville, Minnesota), Ellen (Mrs. Ben Miller of Waterville, Minnesota), Arlie Techen of Doon, Iowa, Arvilla (Mrs. Henry Breuer of Hull, Iowa), Leona (Mrs. Wilbur Scheerhoorn of Sanborn).

They moved a great deal from Hull years, to Minnesota, to Rock Valley, to Perkins, to Hull, to Sanborn. Her husband passed away February 4, 1951, after which she moved mostly from one child’s home to another, until she, about 6 months ago, entered the Nursing Home at Ashton, Iowa, where she departed from this life after suffering a severe stroke which ended her life September 15th at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 19 days.

Besides her five children mentioned before she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Pauline Schlossin at Waterville in Minnesota, one sister, Mrs. Della Rudloph at Pemberton, Minnesota; three brothers, Walter at Waterville, Edwin at Minneapolis, Benjamin at Wauzeka; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren besides many other relatives and friends.

Burial was made September 18th, 1:15 P.M. at the home of Arlie Techen and 2:00 P.M. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
