Karl Tank, passed away at his home Friday, November 30th, after being bed-fast for nearly ten weeks. Mr. Tank suffered with heart trouble but for a while seemed quite well. On September 24th he took a turn for the worse and other complications set in making recovery impossible.

Karl Tank was born in Dagling, Holstein, Germany on December 20, 1876, where he grew to manhood. He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith to which he remained a faithful member.

1906 he was united in marriage with Miss Dorathea Schoellerman, to this union were born two sons, Karl, Jr., and Richard, at home and one daughter who died in infancy.

In 1907 Mr. and Mrs. Tank came to America and for a number of years operated a farm in Plato Township, then they moved onto a farm in Garfield Township where the family still resides. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and will be greatly missed by his wife and son. He also leaves to mourn his death, one brother, John Tank, Rock Valley and one sister, Mrs. Abel Stamp, Gladbrook, Iowa, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, at the home and in Peace Lutheran Church in Plato Township Reverend Graf officiating. Burial took place in the cemetery near the church.
