MRS. JOHANNA JANSEN Funeral services were held at Hallock, Minn., at 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, for Mrs. Johanna Jansen, 88, former resident of Sioux Center, who died at her farm home near Hallock March 3 following an illness of several months’ duration. Services were conducted by the Rev. Kenneth G. Jansen, grandson of the deceased, and burial was made in Greenwood cemetery at Hallock.

Mrs. Jansen was born at Alto. Wis., August 17, 1878. She moved with her family at the age of 2 ½ years to Clear Lake and Bemis, S. D., and later, in 1890, to Sioux Center. She was married to John Jansen here December 24, 1901. The couple resided on a farm near here until moving in 1919 to Orange City. They lived there until 1923 when they moved to a farm in Hill Township, near Hallock, Minn. This had remained her home for 44 years. Mr. Jansen passed away in 1930.

Survivors include two daughters, Hermina of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Margaret (Mrs. William H. Wilson) of Royal Oak, Mich.; six sons, Benjamin A., Jonham C., Lawrence W., all of Hallock, Theodore L., of Pelican Rapids, Minn., James R. of Anaheim, Cal., and Matthew C. of Denver; 22 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is, also survived by five sisters, Mrs. Mary Schnetz of Port Isabel, Tex,, Mrs. Minnie Anderson, Mrs. Dora Johnson and Reka Top of Altadena, Cal„ and Mrs. Louise Werner of Alhambra, Cal. and one brother, Bert Top of Orange City. Mrs. Jansen had been a member of the First Presbyterian church of Hallock since moving to that community.
