Foppe Brouwer died of old age at his home in the south east part of town, Saturday forenoon at eleven-thirty. He lived to the ripe old age [of] 73 years and six months. The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, at the home; at the Dutch Reformed church at two, Rev. J. Huizenga officiating. Mr. Brouwer was an upright Christian and his daily life was always worthy of emulation. A large concourse of friends followed his remains to their last resting place. The deceased leaves an aged wife, five sons and seven daughters to mourn his loss. The Bee joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved ones.
