Mrs. Emory Suter, 83, died unexpectedly Friday, September 1, at the Valley Manor, where she had made her home for the past few years.

Services were held Monday, September 4, at the Porter Funeral Home. The Reverend David Waterman officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Rose Viola Benson was born February 13, 1895, near Alcester, South Dakota. She was married to Emory F. Suter October 29, 1913. The couple farmed for a few years at Estelline, South Dakota, and then moved to the Rock Valley area, living on the farm.

In 1942 the Suters moved to town, and Mrs. Suter purchased the Rock Valley dry cleaning business, which she managed for twenty-five years.

Preceding her in death was her husband Emory; her daughter, Lorraine Miller and her son Merle; also a grandson and son-in-law Emil Miller.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Agnes Suter; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Glenn of Rock Valley, Lester of Camby, Minnesota, Elmer of Santa Ana, California and Lloyd of Valley Center, California; and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Huskstep of Englewood, California.
