MRS. SARAH SUNDINE COMMITS THE AWFUL DEED BY HANGING--SHE WAS TEMPORARILY DERANGED WHICH WAS THE CAUSE FOR THE SAD ACT

The people of Hawarden were horrified this morning to learn that Mrs. Sarah Sundine, mother of Mrs. W.W. Smith, had committed suicide during the night by hanging. She had been in poor health for some months and was temporarily unbalanced in mind a portion of the time. Her daughter went to call her this morning and it was discovered that her room was vacant. A search of the premises found a ghastly sight in the cellar--where she had hanged herself by a rope made from a bed sheet. The body was cold, showed that the awful deed had been committed during the night. Her knees touched the floor and death came by strangulation and the position showed how determined was the demented woman to commit the rash deed.

The relatives have the sincere sympathy of all in their great sorrow.
