Mrs. Barbara Stuit, 85, passed away at the Pioneer Home Saturday afternoon June 12 following a stroke which she suffered the previous Sunday.

Mrs. Barbara A. (De Haan) Stuit was born in the province of Groningen, The Netherlands and came to America in the year 1913 settling at Hospers, Iowa. Her husband, Tonnis "Tunis" Stuit, preceded her in death in the year 1930.

Three children survive, Mrs. S. De Bruin at Sheldon, Henry Stuit at Hospers who made his home with his mother prior to her residence in the Pioneer Home and John Stuit of California.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 P.M. in the Pioneer Home and 2 P.M. in the Reformed Church at Hospers with Reverend Doctor officiating.
