Darrel Stueven, 3 ½ year old on of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stuven of southwest of George, was crushed to death by the wheel of a silage wagon at the family farm July 15.

Survivors include his parents (his mother is the former Karen Reyelts of Hull), a younger sister, Arlys, and a young brother, Duane.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR 3 YEAR OLD DARREL STUEVEN HELD FRIDAY, JULY 18RH

Three year old Darrel Stueven, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stueven, was killed last week, Tuesday evening when he was caught under a rolling silage wagon.

The young lad's grandfather, Mr. August Stueven, had brought a load of silage into the farm yard and parked it, planning to unload it Wednesday morning. Later, the wagon rolled forward, crushing the boy who was apparently playing in front of it. The wagon had to be jacked up to remove the body. Dr. J.C. Lavender of George pronouced the boy dead.

Darrel, the son of Kenneth Stueven and Karen Reyelts, was born November 14, 1965 and was three years, 8 months and 1 day at the time of his death. He and a younger brother Duane and a sister Arlys lived with his parents on the August Stueven farm which is located three miles south and five miles west of George.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 15, from the St. John Lutheran Church of Boyden. Family worship preceded the memorial services. The Reverend Rudy Wendel officiated at the services. Special music was rendered by a quartet composed of Ronald Kruse, Lyle Hollander, Mrs. Loren Stueven and Mrs. Wally Winter, singing "For Me to Live in Jesus". Mrs. Lowell Woelber served as the organist. Casket bearers were Larry Drenhow, Johnny Fick, Earl Fick and Reuben Fick. Interment took place in the St. John Cemetery.

Survivors include the parents, a brother and a sister, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. August Stueven; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Reyelts, maternal great-grandfather, Mr. August Reyelts and maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. A.H. Scholten.
