Died: November 15, 1946

Rudolph D. Studer, son of Frederick and Elizabeth Studer was born at Bern, Switzerland, April 5, 1858 and passed away at Orange City on Friday, November 15, 1946, at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 10 days.

He came with his parents at the age of seven years to this country and settled in Fayette, Iowa. He came to this community in 1880 where he engaged in farming southwest of Rock Valley. He led a quiet industrious life and when his health became poor he came to live in Rock Valley with his sister, Mrs. George Pfarrer. After her passing he made his home with his niece Mrs. Clara Holmes for a time, but afterwards made his home in Orange City.

He leaves to mourn his passing one sister, Mrs. Mary Solum of Mason City. Fifteen nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church at 2:00 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon with Reverend M.L. Jones officiating. Pallbearers were Oscar Miller, Fred Yunker, Elmer Miller, Henry Ranschau, Will Lehman and Fred Gayer. Miss Betty Ann Holmes grandniece of the diseased furnished music on the church organ. Interment was in Valley View Cemetery.
