H. J. Driessen Rock Valley Away
Henry John Driesen, 66 died at the Hull hospital last Wednesday morning following an illness of five weeks.

Mr. Driesen was born in Ambt Vollenhave, Neth on October 4, 1873. He came to America 47 years ago. On March 3, 1898 at Sioux Center he married Ietje VerBurg and to this union three children were born. A son John preceded him in death dying when 7 months old.

He leaves to mourn his widow and two children Rolena (Mrs. Albert Moorlog) and Bert, both living near Rock Valley. He also leaves five brothers, John, James, Evert, Klaas, all of Rock Valley, Johannes of the Netherlands, two sisters, Mrs. J. Russ of Sioux Center, Mrs. Case Blankespoor of Hull and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday Aug 17, 1940 at 1:00 p.m. from the home and at 2:00 p.m. from the Chr. Ref. Church of Rock Valley. The Reverend Mr. Wm. Vander Kief of Bigelow, MN officiated. Bearers were Gt. Van Hul. Ed Van Maanen, Wm. Wynia, Joe Peters, Arie Van Maanen and Time Kooima, Burial was in the Rock Valley cemetery.

Mr. Driesen was engaged in farming having farmed 42 years near Sioux Center and the past 34 Years south of Rock Valley.
