Death of M. L. Disbrow
M. L. Disbrow, a former well known resident of this city, died Monday night at the home of his son A. S. Disbrow of Alcester from apoplexy. He was 79 years of age.

He was born in Connecticut and came to Union County S. D. in 1873, where he homesteaded. He afterward engaged in the implement business at Elk Point and Akron. He came to Hawarden in 1884 and engaged in the implement business here for a time. He afterwards engaged at various time in the jewelry, furniture and piano business. He erected one of the store rooms of the granite block in this city in 1890 and also built the fine brick home now owned by Dr. F. J. McAllister. He was a man of great energy and good business acumen. Of late years his mental faculties failed him to some extent and he retired from business and made his home with his son at Alcester, at whose home the funeral was held yesterday. He has four children living.
