Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel Reed Stewart, who passed away last Wednesday morning, January 17, were held at the home at 1:30 and at the Presbyterian Church at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, with J.R. Van Dyke, pastor of the Christian Reformed Church, in charge. Business places were closed during the service.

Alice M. Everitt, daughter of Elijah and Mary Elizabeth Everitt, was born at Fort Wayne, Indiana, on December 23, 1861. Her mother passed away during the Civil War when she was two years of age, leaving two elder brothers and a baby sister. The father and children migrated to Iowa shortly after the war ended and located at Atlantic, Iowa. She was married there on December 3, 1880, to the late Daniel Reed Stewart, and they moved to Audubon, Iowa, where their only child, Mrs. G.F. Noon, Alberta, was born. In 1884, they moved to Ireton, which has been home of deceased continuously since that time. She was one of the pioneers of the little village and was always interested in the welfare of the home town. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart celebrated their golden wedding, December 7, 1930.

She leaves one daughter, Mrs. G. F. Noon of Toronto, South Dakota, nine grandchildren, three of whom are in the service, PFC. Franklin Noon, Jr., Chas H. Noon, F 2/c, and William Noon, Petty Officer 2/c. She also leaves five great-grandchildren and her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wood of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
