Edward Stellingwerf, age 76, of rural Le Mars, passed away Friday, October 26, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

He suffered a fall last week at the former Maurice Public School, which he purchased earlier this year.

Edward was born February 14, 1903, in Middleburg, the son of August and Fannie Steinvoren Stellingwerf. He lived in Orange City and later Remsen, until entering the service during World War II. Since the war, he lived north of Le Mars where he farmed and operated a salvage business.

Survivors include two brothers, Peter, of Orange City, and Bert, Sr., of Le Mars; one sister, Mrs. Nick (Nellie) Postuma, of Sheldon; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Henry.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 29, at the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. The Reverend William B. Colenbrander, of the First Reformed Church, Orange City, officiated. Interment was at West Lawn Cemetery.
