LAST RITES FOR MARY STEINFORT HELD AT GRANVILLE MONDAY

Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10:00 o’clock at the St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mary Steinfort, 78, who died Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock in a nursing home in Hawarden, following a long illness.

She was born September 28, 1880 in Luxembourg and came to this country with her parents, John and Magdalena (Diederich) Steinfort, at the age of 5 years. They resided on a farm south of Granville until January 1901 when they moved to Granville where she had since resided until she went to the nursing home a couple years ago. She was the last member of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and J.P. and two sisters, Margaret and (Josephine) Mrs. John Kellen.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers were Roy Mapes of Hawarden, Nick Didler, Emil Fisch, Henry Ricker of Paullina, Nick Gergen and Joe Blatt.
