The remains of Mr. George Spencer who died at his home at Santa Ana, California, June 3rd, arrived in Hull last Friday, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Spencer and son, F. Robert.

Burial services were held from Weir and Claerbout Funeral Home and the remains were laid to rest in Hope Cemetery.

Six nephews: Charles A. Beckman, of Iowa City, Iowa; Harry, Lester and Wesley Beckman of Sioux City; Alfred Beckman of Inwood, Iowa; and Clarence Beckman of Melvin, Iowa, acted as pallbearers. Reverend R.A. Jager of the American Reformed Church conducted the services.

Mr. George Spencer was born on February 13th, 1861, at Eldora, Iowa. He moved to northwest Iowa in 1884. After engaging in farming for six years he went into the implement business in Sibley, in 1890. He moved from Sibley to Hull in 1893 and was in the real estate business here until 1915. That year he moved to Canada and then moved to California in 1919, on a fruit ranch.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Johanna G. (Vantriest) Spencer, and one son, Floyd and his wife and one grandson, F. Robert Spencer. One brother, Mr. Charles H. Spencer, and one sister, Mrs. Carrie A. Porter, all of California, also survive.
