SUDDEN DEATH OF JOHN SORGDRAGER, JR.

John Sorgdrager, Jr., was taken sick very suddenly last Wednesday and died the following Friday at Sacred Hear Hospital in Le Mars at 9 A.M. He was conscious and talked to his parents rationally toward the end.

Johnny was 15 years and four months old at the time of his death, May 20th. He was born January 26, 1906, the son of John and Dena (Borrink) Sorgdrager.

The funeral was held Monday from the Dutch Reformed Church, Reverend J.P. De Jong officiating. It was a large funeral and the flowers were very many and very beautiful. Special music was furnished by the school children, school mates of Johnny’s. The pallbearers were classmates, as follows: Doris Riederman, Roland Boer, Tommy Kool, Arthur Mulder Dick Van Lauer and Edward De Boer.

Johnny was rushed to the hospital at Le Mars where he was operated on Thursday night for obstruction of the bowels. The boy passed away Friday morning, the operation being of no avail in saving his life.

The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of all.
