A early resident of Alton, Cornelius “Case” Sorgdrager, died at the Le Mars Hospital Wednesday, the 18th day of February, at the age of 80 years.

He was born in Pella, and at the age of three years came with his parents, Andreas and Kate (Hock) Sorgdrager, to this vicinity. In recent years he made his home with his son, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Sorgdrager, and with his son Robert.

Surviving are six children: Edward, Mrs. P. Keizer, Harry, all of Alton, Case of Sioux Falls, Lynn and Robert of Alton. Also surviving are a brother, Dorris of Alton, and a sister Mary, of Cherokee.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the P. Keizer home, in charge of Reverend H. Hesselink. His wife, Mary (Sol) Sorgdrager died twelve years ago.
